Seongjun's mother is an attractive woman. She has long black hair and wears normal clothing at home, while she dresses up for her work.

Personality

Seongjun's mother has a kind but firm personality. She does not tolerate her son failing in school and getting into fights, but she does support his dreams of becoming a judo star. Seongjun's mother sacrificed a lot for her son in his youth. Even as she was dying she warned Seongjun not to murder his manager, in hopes of salvaging his career.

Synopsis

History

Seongjun's mother was a poor woman living in Japan. She worked as a prostitute to provide for her son. She made good food and her son had a dream of opening a restaraunt with her, but they could never afford it.

When Seongjun began becoming famous after the match-fixing incident, Seongjun's mother was delighted. She wanted to support his dream over anything else. When Seongjun brought his mother lunch at the red light district, she was afraid the paparazzi might discover her job and use it against Seongjun. Surely enough, that situation happened. Seongjun pretended not to know his mother and she pretended not to know her son, but she was deeply hurt by it.

Seongjun started taking money from match fixing later. She was upset about his career having to suffer for this, but Seongjun did not seem to mind. His manager would come to his house and coerce his mother into giving him the money. Seongjun's mother hid this from her son so he wouldn't feel hurt. One day Seongjun proposed opening up a soba shop with the newfound money he has made since his mother is good at cooking. Then she starts crying and asks Seongjun if he can quit doing judo for good. He runs to his dresser and finds the 30 million yen he made from the three matches is now gone.

When Seongjun runs away, his mother goes to the manager in the red light district and tells him that she can't give him any more money. The manager asks her if she knows what would happen if he exposed the match fixing. He says it doesn't matter anyway because he intends to spend the money and leave Korea. He only called her over to sleep with her.

Seongjun starts choking the manager and asking how he could have done such a thing. His mother holds him back and tells him not to hurt him, and that everything will be fine. The manager stabs his mother in the back, and Seongjun murders him. As she is dying, she pleads with Seongjun not to kill the man, since it will ruin his life.

Main Story

Seongjun tells the story of his mother to Hobin as he is dying. In his last moments, he has a dream where he is giving an election speech, and his mother is seen in the crowd.
