Seongjun's father is a minor character in How to Fight/Viral Hit.

Appearance

Seongjun's father looks remarkably similar to his son. He has upturned eyebrows and blue eyes, and combed back hair that is neck length. He wears a suit without a tie.

Personality

Seongjun's mother described him as an irresponsible man, but he someday would have returned to take care of his family. His father was indeed a hard working man. Despite being a small time yakuza member, he defied his superiors to steal money to give to his family. While working there he was beaten and humiliated on the street, but he took it with grace. He also took the blame for Seongjun's murder of his coach, showing how much he cared about his family.

Seongjun's father was not present in his life, but he did want to make a living for his son. That was the reason he stayed as long as he did in the Kawaguchi gang.

Seongjun's father cared enough about his son's mother to want to provide for her. Not much of their relationship is shown besides that.

Synopsis

History

Seongjun's father was a member of the Kawaguchi gang. He had a child with Seongjun's mother but left her before it was born, so he never had a relationship with his son. During his time in the gang, Seongjun's father stole money he could use to give to his family and escape the yakuza life

Seongjun's father is first seen being beaten on the street by his boss for some unknown offense. As Seongjun withnesses this, he tells his coach that he is thankful at least he isn't a small time yakuza member like the one on the street across from them.

When Seongjun murders his manager, he is stabbed in the back by his father who tells him the wound isn't too deep. He is taken into custody for attacking Seongjun and murdering his mother and the manager. Seongjun later finds out that the man was the yakuza member he made fun of before, and his father. His father takes the blame for the murder but is eventually released.

Seongjun's father finally managed to steal the money and went into hiding. He wrote a note explaining the situation and put it inside the bag of money before he slept. He was woken by Seongjun Baek, who stabbed him in his sleep. Seongjun's father passed away in horror upon realizing who his murderer was.

Main Story

Seongjun tells the story of his father to Hobin as he is dying. In his last moments, he has a dream where he is giving an election speech, and his father is seen in the crowd.
