Park Jihyeon is the mother of Yoo Hobin and a minor character in How to Fight/Viral Hit.
Appearance[]
Park Jihyeon has an extremely pale skin color, with diminished brown hair and eyes.
Personality[]
Not much is known about her other than Hobin referring to her as a liar.[1]
Synopsis[]
Jihyeon lives in the hospital, with a condition that is steadily worsening.[1] She manages to find a donor for a surgery that will let her return home, although it costs 20 million won.[2]
Bomi comes to visit Jihyeon Park after learning that she is Hobin's mother. One of the nurses mentions Bomi’s father and she silences her before rushing out of the room. Jihyeon thinks to herself that Bomi must be rich, and approves of her. When she picks up Bomi's phone that dropped, she finds Viral Hook's channel. When Hobin comes into the hospital, his mother asks what he does online, mistaking her son for Hyeonsu Lee.[3]With some struggle, Hobin is able to pay for the surgery, and Jihyeon returns home.
Seongjun offers Jihyeon a job opportunity at XJ Company, and she signs a contract to be a streamer. She tells Hobin that she quit her job at the factory for a better opportunity. She assures him that it isn’t anything dangerous or strange. She is partnered with Pakgo, and made to answer provacative questions and perform demeaning acts. Jihyeon's only thought is to persevere since she wants to earn enough money for Hobin's college fund. Hobin witnesses one of these streams where Pakgo makes her shave her hair off.[4]
Hobin’s mother comes back from the stream worried that Hobin will notice her hair. Hobin prepared a large meal for her when she arrived, saying it is for her new job. Hobin’s mother gives him some money she earned as an allowance, and Hobin thanks her for working so hard.[5] When Hobin’s mother comes to Pakgo’s apartment for her next stream she finds Hobin waiting for her. Hobin tells her that the company has gone under, and she doesn’t have to work anymore. His mother says she is concerned since she signed a contract with the young ceo.[6]
In a good mood, Hobin returns home to find his mother irritated that he missed her calls. She tells Hobin that he has a guest (Jinho Lee), and to serve him some fruit. Jihyeon goes to work late at night and is followed by 244's men. As she is working, Hobin runs to his mother crying and says he will stay at her job to keep an eye on her. She is confused but allows him to watch over her until she returns home safely.[7]
