Jihyeok Woo (우지혁, Woo Jihyeok) is a main supporting character of How to Fight/Viral Hit.
Appearance[]
Jihyeok is a skinny male of taller-than-average height with a pale complexion. He has short straight hair with spiky ends which are parted in the middle that were most likely dyed blonde because his eyebrows are brown. He has small monolid-shaped eyes that are brown in color. Jihyeok has an unusual sense of fashion, as he is almost always seen wearing clothes which include knee-length shorts and mid-calf socks, and often wearing clothes from expensive brands.
Personality[]
In the beginning of the webtoon, Jihyeok was portrayed as a stereotypical bully, who would give up anything to become part of the popular crowd. His way of climbing up the school hierarchy was to target the weak, in order to make himself look more powerful. He would suck up to anyone who was considered higher than himself, in hopes of being accepted and achieving popularity. However, Jihyeok had a low tolerance when dealing with those he'd consider under himself, often responding violently when angered. He also used to be quite insensitive by saying offensive and hurtful things, sometimes without even realizing. After seeing negative reactions from the peers above him, he would quickly excuse his behavior by saying it was a mistake or a joke.
Jihyeok is an opportunist, who would previously try to take advantage of situations or people in order to benefit himself. As seen in early chapters, he tried using Hobin by emotionally encouraging him or using something he was in need of. However, his manipulation failed, because Hobin knew that the only reason Jihyeok would help him would be to benefit himself. He was shown to be reckless, trying to set Hobin up to fight Taehun for views, not thinking of the fact that the latter was a professional fighter.
As the story started progressing, Jihyeok's character started developing and becoming more mature. After having experienced the bullying that Hobin went through, he started to become more understanding towards him and started seeing him as a friend. He also started becoming more compassionate and showed genuine concern for his friends. Despite it not being obvious at first, Jihyeok is also very smart, sometimes even surprising others with his logical conclusions, like when he pointed out to Hobin and Gaeul how the prank videos were fake, based on his attention to detail. He is a realist, often showing skepticism towards Hobin's fighting methods, and is quick to point out logical inconsistencies when he sees them. With his development, he has started becoming more responsible, having the nature to take action under necessary situations.
History[]
In the beginning of the story Jihyeok used to be a cameraman for Pakgo, in hopes that it would gain him social status. Along with him, he used to regularly bully and beat up weak students such as Yoo Hobin.
After seeing how much money people earned through NewTube, he wanted to quickly get started on making his own channel, but in order to make money he needed to use the account of an adult. After getting caught misusing his parent's personal accounts, he couldn't do that anymore, so he decided to talk Hobin into using his mother's account to stream, to which Hobin couldn't say no to. He quickly gained a following, thanks to his friendship with Pakgo and started his first gaming stream at Hobin's house. While streaming, Hobin accidentally tripped and unplugged the computer monitor cord, which caused Jihyeok to get angry and lash out at him. The two started fighting, not knowing that the camera was still recording.
Trivia[]

- ↑ The character's MBTI personality types were revealed in a special chapter in Naver. It's important to note that the types in that webtoon are incorrect most of the time, as the writers do not know about proper typology and go by tests or stereotypes. In Jihyeok's case, it is likely correct.
