Synopsis[]
Cheon Il-seop is first introduced in Jinho Lee's backstory. Cheon is looking for a translator to stay by his side while he does business overseas. Jinho asks Cheon if he has some goal in life that he lives for. Cheon tells him that he is looking for a person like himself, since at times he feels that he is the only person in a world full of animals.[1] After murdering his girlfriend, Jinho returns to Cheon to tell him that he wants to join the organization, but Cheon is skeptical. He asks why a budding art student would want such a change in career. Jinho tells him that he wants to meet a person and rise to the top. Cheon decides to let Jinho to drive his car around, although his wife thinks he won’t last long.
Cheon meets with a congressman to deal with the Nammun gang when he gets shocking news. The Nammun gang stabbed his wife, and Jinho took a hatchet to murder them all. When Cheon returns, he makes Jinho the number three member of the gang as thanks for his revenge.[2]
At home, Cheon is weeping over the death of his wife when Gwak Man-ho comes into the room. He tells Cheon that he is concerned about Jinho since he is growing quickly in power. Cheon brushes this aside since Jinho took revenge on behalf of his wife. The No.2 asks if the boss told Jinho to go after the Jin-an gang as well, and the boss is confused since the Jin-an gang is a sister gang to New International Branch. He sends him to find Jinho, but his second in command never returns.
Later Cheon has a meeting with the commisioner general when Jinho appears, saying he was hoping to see them. Jinho takes out a knife and stabs Cheon, saying that he never considered him a person.[3]
