History[]

Hee-yeon Hwang was a prosecutor, and the daughter of the corrupt politician Yong Hwang. One of her cases was against the yakuza member Seongjun Baek. Even though the latter declined a lawyer, he still won his case and was not charged for his crimes. Hee-yeon complained about out loud, and Seongjun overheard her and came over to mock her.

The next thing she recalls is waking up in bed with no clothes on, and Seongjun cooking in his kitchen. He tells the prosecutor that the night before she challenged him to drinking until they got drunk. He said although she didn't win the competition, she certainly won on the bed. The prosector lunges at him with a knife, and he tells her he is reminded of the night before.

Seongjun treats the prosecutor to soba, a dish his mother used to make a lot. He tells her that they would have made it large if his mother hadn't died because of him. Then he asks the prosecutor if she's ready to head out, since she said she'd challenge him to another night. The two of them became closer. Seongjun started asking her to translate for him for his guests at the restaraunt as a favor, to which she reluctantly agreed.

After a year, they celebrated their first anniversary of dating. Seongjun wore a reindeer suit in celebration, and asked her to quit smoking for him. The prosecutor got a call from the congressman saying he is working with Taesan Ju to get information about her and her father. The prosecutor slaps Seongjun and says she will never forgive him for using her like this, and he should have stayed in the yakuza. Since then she has avoided Seongjun, believing that he never loved her.[1]

Main Story[]

Hee-yeon is first seen walking to Hobin in the street. She slaps him in the face and then brings him close for a hug, with tears in her eyes. She thanks him and walks away, confusing Hobin greatly.[2] Hye-yeon is next seen staring at a mirror while 244 wonders what secrets Seongjun left behind.[3]She later watches Hobin's expose of 244 and bangs her fist on the table in frustration, calling him an idiot.[4]

Hee-yeon visits Hobin's house after 244's attack. She tells Hobin that he can't give up now, for the sake of someone else: and because there is someone willing to help him.[5] Hee-yeon takes him to Yong Hwang, who refuses to help Hobin initially. She tells Yong that Seongjun trusted Hobin enough, so he should have faith in the boy as well. The woman drives Hobin back to his house, who is currently sleeping in the backseat. She recalls working as a prosecutor against Seongjun Baek. The latter declined a lawyer for his trial, and still won the case. She complained to herself about it while smoking outside when Seongjun arrived and taunted her. The woman asked if he was confident in everything he said, which made Seongjun curious. The prosecutor wonders why a man like Seongjun would trust a kid like Hobin.[6]

Later Hee-yeon comes out of her shower and spies a photograph of her and Seongjun at Omakase June. The two of them look happy. When she dropped Hobin off at his house, she asked why he was so adamant about stopping 244. He didn't have anything against 244, and he wasn't close to Seongjun anyway. Hobin says that at first it was about the money, but as time went on he started to actually care about stopping bullies and bad guys. He tells the prosecutor not to worry though, because he always wins against the bad guys.[7]

Prosecutor Hwang drives Hobin and Gyeoul to their neighborhood after their meeting with Yong. She runs out of cigarettes, so she decides to walk and get some more. A man tries to stab her with a needle and she dodges narrowly. When she gets back up she sees she is surrounded by men. Oh Dongseok tells 244 that they figured out Seongjun's secret ally was the prosecutor. However, they don't want to hurt her since she is from a troublesome lineage. 244 ignores this and tells Dongseok to take care of the situation.[8] Hobin rushes in to save Hye-yeon but he is almost stabbed by one of the needles. In the end, Samdak saves the two of them.

Hee-yeon tells Congressman Hwang that she was attacked on the street by what seem to be Lee Jinho's men. He tells her to go into hiding. There is a monk in Gangwon-do, at Hwa-an-san temple who will hide her for some time. At the end of the 87 days, they will meet. However, after 10 days the prosecutor decides to leave the temple. She tells the temple monk that she is going to smoke, and he yells at her as she drives away. The prosecutor tells Seongjun that he only has to wait a little longer, and he will receive justice. She gets a call from an unknown number and picks up. 244 says he found her, and the prosecutor's car blows up as he drives off in his motorcycle.[9]

The prosecutor rolls out of the burning car disoriented. As she is fading out of consciousness, she has a flashback to her past with Seongjun Baek.[10]
