— Chan Jeong in Episode 63 |
Chan Jeong is a minor character of How to Fight/Viral Hit.
Appearance[]
He is tall individual with tanned skin and slanting black eyes. His face is pointed and has spiky black hair. He body is toned and inked with tattoos, like the other delinquents. He is always in casual attire; consisting of vests, t shirts, shorts or pants. When Taehoon met him again after the Lee Do-Un incident, Chan Jeong was wearing a plain white tee shirt underneath a black leather jacket and pants.
Personality[]
Chan Jeong is a greedy and cruel person who lacks any human decency or morals. For a good price, he is willing to hurt any person. His lack of conscience and insensitivity was shown when he felt no guilt regarding Lee Do-Un's demise and merely laughed it off with his friends. Despite lacking any sort of professional hand to hand combat prowess, he is shown to be quite sly, using his girlfriend Minjeong and an unnamed blonde as baits to lure out Taehoon and Do-Un to the arcade
When cornered into a horrible situation, he will easily beg and change colours to save his own skin. This was seen when Taehoon was beating him and his crew up.
He is always violent and abusive to his girlfriend, Minjeong. He would repeatedly beat her up if she argues with him about something. He has a quick temper and wouldn't shy away from ganging up on someone with his members like he did to Do-Un.
History[]
Chan Jeong's aunt took in Munseong when his family was killed. Chan and his aunt were abusive to Munseong, and he bullied him inside and outside of school. Bomi would protect Munseong from Chan in class, but Munseong continued to serve his cousin out of fear of being kicked out of his home.[2]
As said by Seong Taehoon's middle school classmates Chan Jeong had formed a biker gang with other delinquents that was notorious among the students. He acted like a hitman who would assault any person if given the money to do so. Infuriated by Seong Taehoon's bullying, three of his classmates paid Chan Jeong to assault Taehoon. The attack, however turned out to be unsuccessful as Taehoon proved to be too strong for them. One of his henchmen was Munseong Kim who was his cousin and lived with him and his guardian. On Chan Jeong's order who refused to go home unless Munseong attacked Seong Taehoon. Therefore, Munseong had no other choice than to comply. When he failed to beat Taehun, Chan kicked him out of the gang.
In the past, Chan Jeong had performed a gang attack against Taehun Seong and Lee Do-Un. After Taehun had found with Munseong Kim, he had found Chan Jeong taking advantage of Lee Do-Un. Thus, Lee Do-Un performed a 1080 degree kick against Chan in his defense, knocking him out.[3] To get revenge, he and his biker gang members kidnapped Lee Do-Un and asked Taehoon to meet them if he wanted to rescue his friend. Taehoon, however refused and later during a confrontation with Do-Un, one of Chan Jeong's friends hit Do-Un at the back of his head causing him to die. However, due to his friends and him being juveniles, they were protected by the juvenile law and later were released only with a small punishment. Deeply angered by this, Taehoon attacked the biker crew and broke Chan Jeong's hand.
When the vice minister (Ji Yeonu's father) angered Baek Seong Joon by slapping him and calling off their deal, Chan was hired by the former Yakuza to place a hit on him.[4] However, he failed in killing him and was later punished by Jisu Ju on Baek Seongjoon's orders when his girlfriend Minjeong snitched on their murder attempt. It was shown that Jisu Ju had crippled him for life.[5]
