Season 1[]
Bomi used to protect him when he was younger, and he fell in love with her. However he never told her his feelings because he felt he was unworthy of her. However, he agreed to do his best at whatever he did, and Bomi promised the same.[1]
Bomi's first meeting with Hobin happened 3 years before the main story. Her personality used to be different, she was obsessed with becoming a grown up, likely influenced by her mother. She rejected a guy older than her because he was "too childish for her", used big words to seem more intelligent, claimed that dating is childish and that she's more interested in researching real estate. When her father tried to tell her that it's okay for kids to be kids, she felt personally attacked and insisted that she's a grown up, being ungrateful and saying that she would move out as soon as possible to stay away from him. Hobin, who had been listening to the whole conversation walks in and sticks his booger on her forehead, which angers her even more and yells at him to grow up. Bomi is so angry that she decides to follow him for the whole day to get an apology from him. But she starts to pity him around the end of the day because he is working 9 part time jobs to support his mother. The next day, Hobin finally gets a break and Bomi gets her chance to ask him for an apology. Instead, Hobin asks her if she has apologized to her dad, to which she responds in anger, that it's none of his business. Hobin starts telling her that she's going to regret all the mean things she said to him, referencing that he has done the same and now regrets it. For once, Bomi listens and says that he acts as if he's an adult, even though he's a kid. He tells her that growing up was not a choice for him, he wishes that nobody had to grow up so they could avoid all pain and hardship. The next time she goes to see him, Hobin is not at the hospital. The nurse tells her that his mother got discharged and he left early. Bomi starts to realize that he may have been her "first love" even though the two only had one short conversation. Three years later, Bomi spots Hobin working at McDonald's and decides to work there just to get closer to him.[2]
Main Story[]
Hobin's mother is sick in the hospital, and he is working a part-time job at a restaurant to support her bills. The only thing he likes about his job is getting to see Bomi, his crush. Pakgo enters the store to film a talking to girls challenge. He orders Bomi to make a burger under 30 seconds for him or give him his number, but Hobin gives the burger to him instead.[3]At work, Hobin goes to quit his job because it didn't make enough money to pay for his mom. The other workers and boss mock him for his actions, but Bomi asks for his number so that they could continue texting.[4]As he waits, he begins texting Bomi, who tells him she would rather call him. [5]
Bomi is asked to join a streamer's challenge, but she notices Hobin at the park and decides to spend time with him.[6] She is disappointed in Hobin's absentmindedness. When Hobin overhears people saying that Bomi was out of his league, he out loud insists that they are not a couple, and Bomi becomes even more disappointed. They order one strawberry Danish, and Bomi tries to make conversation as they sit down at the table. However, Hobin gives her vague, one-word responses, making her think he is uninterested. As she is about to leave because he doesn't seem to want to talk to her, he admits that he was just nervous because he never experienced this before, and that she was pretty. She smiles at him when she hears that.
They walk outside, and Bomi answers a call. After that, she tells him she was calling her childhood friend, asking Hobin if he knew Munseong. He lies and says he was friends with Munseong, and at that moment, Munseong appears.[7] Munseong tells Bomi that he is friends with Hobin, and the two are in the same class. Hobin convinced that Munseong is a better match for Bomi than himself, and decides to head home saying he has an ingrown toenail. When he returns later Munseong leaves, saying he has to prepare for a match.
Hobin is about to confess to Hobin when Pakgo interrupts them. He pulls Bomi's hair when she yells at him, and Hobin tries to keep his cool as he challenges Pakgo to a fight.[8]Bomi tries to help Hobin but she is held by Pakgo's friends. She manages to slap Pakgo, and he grabs her for a moment before. Hobin threatens to demonitize his channel. Munseong steps in and saves them from Pakgo and tells Bomi to leave Hobin alone: the worst she can do is stay and make him feel worse.[9]
Munseong is watching Hobin's fight with Taehun and he asks if Bomi wants to see. Bomi is still angry at Hobin for ignoring her, but when she hears about his fight she becomes interested. When Hobin fails the manuever Munseong shuts off the stream and says the best thing she can do is not watch Hobin's defeat.[10]
Bomi is finishing Hobin's stream from her workplace when she is approached by a large man asking for her number. She refuses and he takes his order and leaves, but she is uncomfortable since it has been several times that he's asked.[11]Hobin visits Bomi at Lotdonalds where she worked and goes to see her. The creepy guy comes in and leaves, and Bomi is worried before she sees Hobin arrive. Bomi angrily gives Hobin his orders, which confuses him. When she sees the script written on his hand she chuckles, and Hobin tries to get her attention. Bomi mentions that Hobin hired a female editor, and asks if he thinks she is pretty. Gaeul enters the store and asks Hobin if he is going to answer the question.[12]
Bomi wonders why this pretty girl would be with Hobin. Gaeul gives Bomi a box of ginseng to pacify Bomi. She asks Hobin if he will deny wanting to get close to Bomi. When she sees the look on his face, Gaeul tells Bomi that she and Hobin are work partners only and leves with the excuse of an ingrown toenail. Hobin gets a message from Bomi and rushes to the hospital to see her having a twisted ankle.
Bomi explains that she was texting Hobin when a snake popped out of nowhere, making her turn and fall on her leg. Comedy Crew revealed to her that it was a prank and asked her to be in a video. Before she could respond, a car nearly missed her. Bomi was shaken and afraid but Comedy Crew was happy to have gotten the footage, only concerned about the views. Bomi is sharing this with Munseong when Hobin arrives at her hospital room. He texts Bomi that he is sorry he couldn’t be there first, and that he can’t say such things in front of Munseong.[13]
While Bomi is walking home she texts Hobin. He is worried for Bomi's stallker but she says she will be fine. Mangi follows Bomi from her workplace and he tries to grab her face but Munseong punches him. Munseong grabs Mangi’s chest and reads aloud the skill of making an opponent lose their cool. Then he says he will show him how a professional fighter wins against a traditional Korean wrestler.[14]Mangi pushes Bomi away and rushes at Munseong but he sees Hobin running at him already. Hobin saw Bomi being pushed and ran without thinking, but Mangi just grabs him and slams him on the ground.[15]
Bomi tells her boss that she is quitting and collecting her severance pay, although she isn’t qualified for it yet. She visits Hobin’s mother and cuts her an apple. One of the nurses mentions Bomi’s father and she silences her before rushing out of the room. Hobin’s mother picks up the phone and is shocked.[16] As he is laying down on a bench, Bomi sits next to him and tells him about her plan to pay for his mom’s surgery, but Hobin tells her that she isn’t qualified for pay and walks away from her.[17]The day of the contract Hobin meets with Bomi and apologizes for being rude to her.[18]
Hobin received a voucher to Omakase June, an expensive restaurant. Jiksae explains that he can invite two people to the dinner, and that one of his fans likely sent it to him. Rumi and Gaeul are fighting for the invitation but Hobin rejects them. He vents to Bomi about it, who thinks that he will invite her. [19]
IHobin tells Bomi about becoming a CEO but she is not impressed. She asks if he knows Yeonwoo Ji, one of the Newtubers from XJ. Yeonwoo is her classmate at her school. She runs away so Hobin doesn’t know where she lives.[20]nstead, he is volunteering at the medical club along with Bomi. Hobin takes his team out for a day at the beach, but really it is to spy on Bomi and Yeonwoo, who are volunteering at a nearby hospital.[21]
A bunch of guys at the beach are wondering who to sleep with when they come across Bomi, Gaeul and Rumi. They try to pick them up but Rumi tosses a drink that them for being vulgar. Hobin and Jihyeok come running after the scene, and the guys are shocked that the girls are hanging out with them. Later, they try to start drama by walking behind Hobin’s stream and pretending like he filmed them. Hobin tries to diffuse the situation by apologizing, but Yeonwoo steps in and demands the others apologize. The Newtubers, who thought Hobin was cool by apologizing, are now siding with Yeonwoo.[22]Hobin later sits on the beach with Bomi, and is miffed that Yeonwoo is there. A wave comes by, revealing Yeonwoo’s abs underneath.[23]Rumi and Bomi tell Gaeul that the boys were trying to pick her up, and she should be more careful in the future.[24]
Bomi goes out to coffee with Hobin, who is wearing sunglasses to prevent fans from recognizing him. She takes them off and says she wants to see his eyes. Jihyeok tells Hobin that Bomi is leading him on, and he should stop thinking that she could ever like him. Hobin decides to ask Bomi what she likes about him. She points at a group of girls outside and says she used to go to a prestigious middle school like them. Hobin doesn't remember, and Bomi realizes that she is the only one who remembers him from before. Rumi and 244 stop by to pick up drinks from the coffee shop, and Hobin asks if they are on a date. When Rumi sees how close the two of them are, she wonders why Hobin was so nice to her before.[25]
Bomi and Hobin go to a room cafe to hang out, and Hobin overhears people making out in the next room. He worries that Bomi might be angry at him, but she is just as flustered as him. He trips and lands on top of her, but holds himself above her. Hobin says he won't try anything since he knows Bomi isn't into him, but Bomi says she isn't leading him on.[26]She recalls her past and wonders why Hobin doesn't remember her. Hobin suddenly recieves a call from his company, and regretfully tells Bomi to wait.[27]
He hugs her as she cries, and Bomi appears.[28]Hobin asks Bomi why she is here when she was going to spend time with her mom. Bomi tells him that she thought he was alone. Hobin tries to explain himself but Bomi says she hopes the two of them have fun. He tries to apologize over text but Bomi doesn't respond. Bomi is also wondering what to say when she gets a call from someone.
Munseong called Bomi out from her house because he was thinking of her since they haven't talked for a while. Bomi suddenly gets a text from Hobin and wonders what to do. She tells Munseong that she likes Hobin, but she is angry with him over what he did. Munseong grabs her arm and tells her not to respond to Hobin.[29] Bomi takes her arm back and asks Munseong what he means. He says that Hobin mistreated her regardless, and she shouldn't take this issue lightly since she is worth so much more. Bomi reads the text from Hobin and decides to let the matter go. She shows the text to Munseong but Munseong walks away.
Bomi returns home to see her mother seated on the couch, and the father looking apologetic. Her mother asks why Bomi's grades have been falling, and Bomi admits that she is in love with Hobin Yoo. Her mom tries to smash her phone with an ashtray but Bomi pleads for her not to. Her mother tells her that if she can't study and date at the same time, she will send her overseas. So Bomi decides she will contact Hobin less and try to bring up her grades.[30]
Munseong meets Bomi on a stairwell near her house. She asks him why he and other boys are always waiting for her, and Munseong confesses his feelings for her. Bomi tells him that it's getting cold outside, and leaves for her house. Munseong smiles sadly and wonders if he was always this pathetic.[31]
Bomi notices a creepy van following her and becomes suspicious. She is suddenly surrounded by men who rush at her from all sides. The van slams into the wall next to her and Taehoon and Yeonwoo come out, asking if she is alright.[32]Taehoon and Yeonwoo are fighting Bomi's attackers, who are armed with knives. Taehoon asks Yeonwoo to tank for him, which he refuses adamantly. He tells him to take Bomi out of the hole they created in the wall with their van, but to return immediately when he does.[33]
244 tells Hobin he is surprised that he hid his mother well, but he missed the chance to save Bomi Choi. Hobin tells Jinho that he is disappointed he is thinking of others at a time like this, and that he sent someone to take care of Bomi. Munseong appears in front of Bomi and closes the door on her, as gangsters approach her home.[34]
