Personality[]
Bomi's mother is a powerful woman who incites fear in her husband and daughter. She has a ritual of making them sit on their knees while she brings up problems around them. She is also prone to violence, as can be seen by her threatening to smash Bomi's cellphone with an ashtray. Bomi's mother believes that women should not rely on their spouses for a future, something she seems to regret about her own life. She is surprisingly understanding of Bomi's crush on Hobin Yoo, and rather than telling her to break it off, she advises her to date and study at the same time if possible.

Jinhyeon Choi has a loving but fearful relationship with his wife. He asks for forgiveness from her without even knowing what the problem is, since he assumes that the problem is him. He does not seem to show any resentment towards his wife.
Bomi Choi[]
Similar to her father, Bomi is quite afraid of her mother.
Synopsis[]
Bomi's mother is first sitting on a couch with her husband kneeling on the floor. Bomi returns home from talking with Munseong to see her mother seated on the couch, and the father looking apologetic. Her mother asks why Bomi's grades have been falling, and Bomi admits that she is in love with Hobin Yoo. Her mom tries to smash her phone with an ashtray but Bomi pleads for her not to. Her mother tells her that if she can't study and date at the same time, she will send her overseas. Bomi agrees to contact Hobin less and try to bring up her grades.[1]
